Khao Lak is fast becoming one of Thailand's favourite places to visit. In the Phang Nga Province and about an hour and half from Thailand's Number 1 tourism location, Phuket, Khao Lak has some great activities to keep you entertained when you are in the area. We take a look at few of the favourite activities in Khao Lak. We walk around the stunning Khao Lak Lamru National Park Headland and drop into Small Sandy Beach or Haad Lek.

We spend a few hours on the Lamru Yai River Bamboo Rafting having a great time, something we can really recommend when you travel to Khao Lak.

With the Andaman Sea coastline on your door step you always want to spend some checking out the amazing Thailand Beaches. We head to our favourite at Memories Beach and then up to the very popular Coconut Beach Khao Lak and have a good look around then finish out time the wonderful Bangsak Beach in the north of the area.

So sit back grab a drink and enjoy a look at what you can do when you visit Khao Lak Thailand.

One of our favourite places in the whole of Thailand is the peaceful laid back Koh Lanta in the Krabi Province. Less than a 1 hour boat ride from Phuket Thailand's busiest Holiday Island, or 2 hours drive from the very popular beachside town of Ao Nang and you are in a whole new world.

With a great relaxed lifestyle Koh Lanta is the perfect place to unwind and take time out to give yourself a little bit of love. The west coast has some of the very best beaches you will find in Thailand and that's saying a lot, but it is true.

We stayed in the North of Koh Lanta in the village of Khlong Dao and it was great, with restaurants and bars lining the beach you can treat yourself every night of the week. We explored the Sala Dan Walking Street night markets and went for a awesome day trip down the coast of this beautiful tropical Island to the Khlong Chak Beach.

So sit back grab a drink and join us as we show you around a true gem, Koh Lanta.

The number 1 town in Krabi Province Thailand is getting even bigger and better as Ao Nang steps up his game. It has been 2 years since we made a video in Ao Nang and in that time this town has really moved ahead with new shopping throughout the town and outstanding entertainment venues like Bamboo Beach Club. The very famous Ao Nang Landmark Night Markets has also had a revamp plus new markets have been built in the town at Blue Mountain Night Markets.

Still the gateway to some amazing day trips out to the 4 Island Tour, Railay Beach just 10 minutes away and Hong Island in Phang Nga Bay, Ao Nang now has become a destination in it's own right. The night life is amazing from the younger back packer crowd to the mature holiday makers there is something for everyone in this vibrant Thailand town.

The Island of Koh Chang is is one of Thailand's highest rated holiday destinations and has recently been rated the number 2 Tropical Holiday Destination in the world. In this video we are going to take a deeper dive into the town on the Central Coast of Koh Chang the hyper cool Kai Bae.

With a chilled out atmosphere and cool village feel to it, the town of Kai Bae on Koh Chang in the Gulf of Thailand is fast becoming one of the coolest holiday destinations in South East Asia. It has lots of facilities from up market resort style accommodation to quality restaurants and chill our bars, it is a great place to unwind and enjoy your vacation time.

There are a few beaches we will explore in this video starting with the main Kai Bae Beach to our favourite while we were in the area- Klong Prao Beach. Long stretches of white sand and calm clear waters are our ideal type of Thailand vacation.

So sit back and enjoy Rob Shaz Travels look around the town of Kai Bae in Koh Chang and maybe even hit that like and subscribe button to help us keep making more videos like this one.

We explored the main town of Thong Sala where the ferries will drop you off from Koh Samui or Koh Tao and where you can do some shopping and eat at the Pantip Night Markets.

Discover why this destination in Thailand should be on your travel bucket list.

When we were planning our exploring of Koh Phangan, one of Thailand's most visited tropical Islands in the Gulf of Thailand and not far from Koh Samui, we decided to spend some time in the North East of the Island at the twin bay area called Thong Nai Pan Yai and Thong Nai Pan Noi.

Set on the North East Coast of Koh Phangan, Thong Nai Pan turned out to be a real treat. With stunning tropical beaches ideal for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding or just relaxing. This twin bay location was beautiful to see and it showed us a couple of surprises we weren't expecting.

The Village at Thong Nai Pan Noi was an absolute treasure. It has some great boutique shops for retail therapy while you are enjoying your vacation in Thailand and all the facilities that you need while on holidays. There were some cool bars to stop in and enjoy your afternoon beers and maybe even make some new friends. You can also organize Island Tours and diving charters from here.

We were able to find a walk to a stunning viewpoint at the top of the hill in the middle of the Thong Nai Pan Bay and overlooked this beautiful Location at Thong Noi Pan on Koh Phangan that you must go and see. There is even a Pagoda at a Buddhist Monastery made from beer bottles.

If you are planning a trip to Thailand and are looking to spend some time on Koh Phangan we can highly recommend Thong Nai Pan.

In this Rob Shaz Travels video we will take you for a look around Bang Tao Phuket. From a former tin mining town the Laguna Bang Tao region has become a very highly sort after resort holiday destination in Thailand. Thailand's favourite travel Island, Phuket now has a place to stay if you are looking for high end resort accommodation, world class golf course and a beautiful tree lined 6 kilometer beach. The magnificent Banyan Tree, Dusit Thani, Angsana and Movepick are just some of the fantastic high end resorts in the Bang Tao district. We will show you around the town of Bang Tao and along the main beach.

In this video we check out what is the best way to travel from Phuket to Koh Lanta in Thailand.

We have done this trip a couple of times now from Phuket to Koh Lanta and in this video we have a look at whether the Ferry or the Speedboat is better. We took a Ferry from Phuket to Koh Lanta at the end of January 2024. Leaving from Rassada Pier Phuket it headed out to first to Phi Phi Island where we got to have a look at Maya Bay and Phi Phi Lay Lagoon along the way. We stopped in at the Pier on Koh Phi Phi Don then changed over to the smaller ferry that took us across to Sala Dan Pier in Koh Lanta. The trip was pleasant, comfortable and took around 3 hours. The facilities on the Ferry were very good with food and drinks available to purchase.

When we returned to Phuket from Koh Lanta we decided to take the speedboat so that we were able to make a genuine comparison between the two. We left Sala Dan Pier in Koh Lanta and made our way directly to Phuket without the stop over on the way back at Phi Phi Island. Sometimes this Speedboat trip has to stop off at Phi Phi Island if there are not enough customers to go to Phuket directly. We were lucky on this day. The ride back on the speedboat took around 1 hour and 25 minutes.

The Speed Boat was booked through Time Travel and Tour @ Lanta the service provider was Bundhaya Speedboats. The booking was done through WhatsApp and number was 081 535 1970. It cost 2300฿ for both of us including pick up from our Hotel.

If you check out the video we will show you both ways and you will be able to figure out what is the best way for you to travel between Phuket and Koh Lanta and the beautiful South of Thailand.

If you have any question please send us an email, happy travels from Rob and Shaz.

We have been looking for some time to see if we could find a real "Ethical Elephant Sanctuary".

We almost gave up until we came across "Following Giants" in Koh Lanta in the South of Thailand province of Krabi. At this Sanctuary you are not allowed to touch, feed, wash or ride these wonderful gently giants. The idea is to not make the Elephants do anything that is not in their natural behaviour and that is exactly what found.

The Elephants have been rescued from Logging or tourism and given a life where they can be free to do whatever they like.

Set in around 45 acres of natural bush land in the beautiful Island of Koh Lanta we had an experience with Following Giants that we will not forget. We took the 2 hour package which included picking us up from our hotel then taking us around the property to spend time with these wonderful creatures. It was a very humbling experience.

You check out their packages and prices on their website https://www.followinggiants.net/

In February 2024 we were lucky enough to spend some time in Koh Lanta in the Province of Krabi, in the South of Thailand. While we were there we decided to make this Travel Guide to find out which is Koh Lanta's Best Beach. It was hard work riding around the Island of Koh Lanta to going to check out all of the Beaches, not really, but we did it just for you our viewers.

We show you Khlong Dao, Prae Ae, Long Beach, Bamboo beach, U Bay, AO Nui Bay, Diamond Cliff Beach/Nui Beach, Klong Nin, and Kantiang Bay.

We take you from Phuket to Koh Lanta on the Ferry, come along as we take a look around the beautiful town of Sala Dan.

We stop in at Blue Planet Divers and have a chat to the owner about his dive trips and how much they cost.

We stop at the lovely Good Life Restaurant & Bar which overlooks the pier where the speedboats and ferries leave from to have the yummiest satay chicken we've had in Thailand.

Then we journey around to show a little of what the area has to offer.

Definitely do yourselves a favour and do a trip to Sala Dan and enjoy the wonderful hospitality of the locals in this very beautiful and quaint area.

We left Phuket at 10.00 and arrived at Koh Lanta at 1pm. Rob collected our motorbike from Seahorse Lanta Travel, you can book your bike or day trips from their FB Page which we have added below. seahorselantatravel

And if your a scuba diver or snorkeler you can book your trips day trips with Blue Planet Divers FB and website below. Go have a chat they are very helpful.

In this video we are going to show you around the beautiful coastal town of Rawai in the very south of Phuket Island Thailand. This town has seen a lot of changes over the past few years, from being a small fishing village to now being a tourist destination of it own in Phuket, Rawai has developed in to town you don't want to miss you when you visit Thailand.

The area has a great main street with Bars and Restaurants to satisfy your tastebuds. The fresh seafood market along the Rawai foreshore has outstanding produce for you to purchase then cross the laneway to one of the many Restaurants where you can get your seafood cooked on the spot while you wait, the best way to eat to seafood we think.

The area has a some excellent fitness facilities including Muay Thai Gyms, Yoga Studios and MMA training as well, plus it is only 5 minutes away to the stunning Naiharn Beach and Yanui Beach, some of the best in Phuket.

With outstanding accommodation choices there is something to suit all types of travels to this upcoming area of Thailand.

Rawai is a place we recommend you visit and make your mind up whether this is somewhere that suits you when you travel to Phuket Thailand.

Q becoming one of Thailand's Tourism hot spots is Khao Lak. In the province of Phang Nga just north of Phuket and on the Andaman Sea Coast is where Khao Lak is located. This region is made up from 3 Thailand Villages, Nang Thong, Bang Niang and Khao Lak.

Spread out over approximately 30 kilometers of coast line Khao Lak has some outstanding beaches like the famous Memories Beach Surf spot, White Sand Beach, Coconut Beach, Khuk Khak Beach, Nang Thong Beach and Small Sandy Beach in the National Park. Khao Lak area has Thap Lamu Port which is the gateway to the magnificent Similan Islands National Park.

This area has made a very strong recovery after being devistated by the 2004 Tsunami and really is worth adding to your list of destinations when planning your Thailand Travel Adventure.

We have created this guide to let you know what you can expect when you make your way to Khao Lak. This will help you decide where you want to stay and give you some ideas for activities to do while you enjoy your Thailand holiday in Khao Lak.

During our time in December exploring the wonderful region of Khao Lak we spent quite a few days checking our all the local beaches. Our goal was to help you find your best beach in the Khao Lak area. We went to the famous beaches like; White Sand Beach in the north, Memories Beach and Khuk Khak Beach near Bang Niang Town.

But we also found some amazingly stunning hidden gems like the beautiful Bang Sak beach, one not to the be missed while you are exploring the Khao Lak region in Phang Nga Province in the South of Thailand

In December 2023 we took a day trip from Khao Lak to one of the places we have most been looking forward to visiting, the magnificent Similan Islands. This day trip is done from Khao Lak or Phuket, including Patong, Karon and the other towns on Phuket Island.

The boat trip takes off from Thap Lamu Port in the Khao Lak region and takes about 90 mins on the boat before you get out to the Similan Island Archipelago. The Boat Trip is targeted towards people that are interested in Snorkeling and we had some of the best Snorkeling we have ever had in our lives.

We were able to dive with the magnificent Green Sea Turtles and an abundance of Sea Life, plus we got to see beautiful healthy coral in many varieties. We had an amazing day on the water and under it.

After we spent some time in Kota Kinabalu and went to the Mari Mari Cultural village, then we made our way across to the East Coast of Borneo to the town of Sandakan. Sandakan is a well established Port Town on the coast of Borneo.

About 40 minutes drive from Sandakan is the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre is located in the Sepilok Forest Reserve and was established in 1964 to care for and nurture orphaned Orangutans. We had a wonderful time walking around and checking out the Orangutan Nursery where the youngest of the Orangutans learn the skills to make there way out in to the big wide world.

There is a feeding platform where the adult and adolescent Orangutans can go to get food to supplement their diets and lucky people like us can go to observe them in a habitat that is close as we can get to their natural environment. It was a great experience.

Just adjacent to the Orangutan Centre is a Sun Bear Conservation Centre where you can go to observe the Sun Bears that are being cared for as they are threatened by deforestation and human mistreatment. This was also an experience that we won't soon forget.

Then it was time to head in to the town of Sandakan to take a look around at this City

During our trip to Sabah Kota Kinabalu we stopped in at the Mari Mari Cultural Village for the morning and wow what a fabulous morning we had. Our guide Yvonne was very informative and super fun which made our day all that much better.

It was a truly immersive experience as we learnt about the rich cultural heritage of indigenous people of Borneo. We sampled local cuisine, drank rice wine, coffee and pandan juice and also had fun jumping on the springing bamboo floor.

We felt extremely grateful and full of knowledge of the rich culture of the beautiful people of Borneo when we left.

We highly recommend you take a trip out and enjoy the wonderful hospitality from everyone at the Mari Mari Cultural Village.

Welcome to our Rob Shaz Travels Video of our first ever travel to Borneo. Borneo is the third largest Island on Earth and is has 3 different territories governed by Indonesia, Brunei and where we went to visit, the Malaysian state of Sabah.

In this video we explore the Capital City of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu or as the local call it "KK". We take a look at what you can do when you visit KK from the Gypsy Seafood Markets, the Gaya St markets, the vibrant KK Waterfront and we go to watch the Sunset at Tanjung Aru Beach and Night Markets.

We hope you enjoy a look around KK and hopefully you might find out as we did that there is more to do in Kota Kinabalu.

This video is to help you plan a 2 week trip in the South of Thailand. It's based manly around the beach areas of Ao Nang, Krabi, Koh Lanta and Koh Samui.

We travelled through the south of Thailand earlier this year and we've tried to put together a 2 week travel itinerary from our experience being there. We start you off in Ao Nang Krabi, a vibrant tourist town on the coast of the Andaman Sea with heaps to do.

Day trips include Emerald Pool, Krabi Hot Springs, 4 Island Tour, Railay Beach and khlong Root Kayaking. The next place we recommend is the stunningly beautiful beaches of the chilled out Island of Koh Lanta. Then make your way across to Koh Samui, a famous tourist Island in the Gulf of Thailand where you see waterfalls, Tarmin Magic Gardens or take a brilliant day trip out to Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park where you will find a truly breathtaking view point.

We hope this video helps you get planning and if you have any questions at all about the places where have been or where we stayed or need help planning your trip, drop us an email.

After our travels to Ao Nang, Koh Lanta and Koh Samui we flew into Phuket and made out way to Karon Town. On this night we decided to go out and have a look around Karon Town.

We started our night at the Karon Temple Night Markets where we had a walk around the brilliant Temple Grounds and checked out all the Market Stalls, and spent some money (lol).

We had a great time in Phuket and especially liked the Karon Temple Night Markets where we did some shopping before we walked through the town and had a look at the restaurants and bars, plus the stunning Roundabout Monument.

If you are in the Karon area we really recommend taking the time to check this place out and as always we hope you have enjoyed another video.

Today we leave the amazing Ao Nang in Krabi Thailand and head to Koh Lanta.

We booked a van and took off from our hotel at the BlueSotel SMART Krabi Ao Nang Beach. It's an easy trip from Ao Nang over to Koh Lanta with some beautiful scenery along the way.

We caught the Ferry across from Krabi to Koh Lanta Noi the smaller of the 2 islands and then drive over the Siri Lanta Bridge to Koh Lanta Yai and then made our way to the Long Beach Chalet to check into the resort.

We booked the beach front chalet which we were very happy with and would book again. It has the best ocean view with amazing sunsets, perfect white sandy beach and crystal clear water.

We had a relaxed evening enjoying the beautiful Long Beach in Koh Lanta, we enjoyed dinner and a fire show and a few cocktails before turning in for the night.

This video shows you around the stunning Island of Koh Lanta in Krabi Thailand. Koh Lanta is about an hour south of Krabi Town and boasts some of the most amazing beaches in Thailand. Better than some of the more well-known Islands. We were pleasantly surprised when we visited Koh Lanta as we had heard from some people that it was just ok, BUT we loved it here.

We had a great time riding around this stunning little tropical Island in Krabi and went down to the Southern tip to check out Mu Koh Lanta National Park before dropping in to visit a couple of pristine beaches. We rode up and over the hill to Koh Lanta Old Town and rode through the picturesque rural countryside.

Today we leave our beautiful resort @longbeachchalet Koh Lanta, we have loved our time here and will undoubtedly be back, this island is an untouched place of paradise and we feel we didn't have enough time here but today we are off to Koh Samui, and are so excited to travel to another beautiful island in Thailand.

We took a van from our chalet (cost 500baht) to Krabi Airport which took around 3 hours so allow enough time to get to the airport the traffic leaving Koh Lanta can get quite congested which means it will take a while to get onto the ferry to leave Koh Lanta to get back onto the mainland of #krabi

We then hopped on a Bangkok Airways flight and took the short 50min flight to Koh Samui, we got a light snack on the plane which was a surprise for a short trip but we quickly realised that Bangkok Airways really take care of their passengers.

This video was done in Ao Nang the vibrant coastal town in Krabi Thailand. Ao Nang is the gateway to the amazing sights and things to do in Krabi, like Emerald Pool, Blue Pool, 4 Islands Tour and Khlong Root Kayaking. Plus you are only 15 minutes longtail boat ride to the stunning Railay Beach and Phra Nang Beach.

We hope this guide to Ao Nang in Krabi is helpful and we'd love to hear from you about your adventures in Krabi Thailand, or need help planning your trip drop us an email.

This is the first video in our series of our travels in April and May 2023 through the south of Thailand. We leave home and make our way to Ao Nang and catch up with our friend Ppee Mai.

We had a brilliant day out on the sea doing the 4 Island Tour out to Koh Poda, Koh Kai Thale Waek and Railay Beach in the province of Krabi, Thailand. We took the longtail boat from the harbour at Nopharat Thara just a few minutes ride from where we were staying at the Blue Sotel Smart in Ao Nang, Krabi.

The captain took us across the bay to start our 4 Island Tour at Koh Poda, then we went over to walk across the sand bar at Thale Waek. Finishing up our day with some amazing food and a swim at the stunning Railay Beach. Railay beach is somewhere we did not spend enough time on this trip, but I dan guarantee that we will be back to this Gem of place.

This is a must do when your in Krabi Thailand, head to Khlong Root and enjoying a relaxing day casually kayaking around at your own pace and a spot of lunch.

We paddled across the lake then up the stream through the beautiful rainforest to the bubbling springs and back to the swimming hole where we jumped into the chili water for a refreshing dip.

We left from our hotel in Ao Nang Krabi Thailand just after breakfast and took a short 15 min ride to Khlong root, then headed to one of Thailand's lesser known but still beautiful beaches Klong Muang Beach.

Krabi Thailand is a gorgeous place to visit on you holidays we think this is a must do while your there.

This is a day trip out to the Emerald Pool a popular tourist attraction in the Krabi area and about 1 hour 15 mins from Ao Nang. We had a great look around and a refreshing swim in the Emerald Pool.

Then enjoyed the tranquil nature walk along the stream through the rainforest back to the start. After a quick bite to eat, we headed over to check the Krabi Hot Stream and Hot Springs. Also set in the magnificent Rain Forest this stream is around 35 degrees C.

It was a great experience and the setting was magnificent. The walk back along the stream was stunning also. We had a great day and we hope you enjoy this video.

We had a great time on the water slides, the huge pool for paddle boarding, underwater scooters, on the zipline and just hanging out having a few beers. The day was more fun than we expected and we would highly recommend the Blue Tree Lagoon Water Park for an excellent day out in Phuket.

One of our most favourite things to do is to take day trips around Phuket to check out the amazing beaches.

On this trip we took a ride down to the South of the Island to the Rawai area and went to Nai Harn Beach and Ao Sane Beach. We had a great time on our day trip. We went for a run and exercise around Nai Harn Lake, then for an excellent Breakfast at Sea Oak Cafe.

After Breakfast we went to Nai Harn for a swim at this beautiful beach. Next was a short motorbike ride to Ao Sane Beach to take in the beautiful views and chill out on the day bed. All in all it was a brilliant day checking out the beaches around Phuket Island

This video is the 2nd day of our trip when I took a walk around the rocky point at Surin Beach and made my way to the stunningly beautiful Laem Singh Beach. So we hope you enjoy checking out one of Phuket's most stunning beaches Laem Singh.
